Options Definitions
The following is a break down of each option
Dispatch from Enter New Trip and Search Trips tab
Selecting this option will activate the "Select Driver" dropdown in the "Enter New Trip" and "Search & Edit Trips" Screens
This will allow you to dispatch directly from "Enter New trip" screen. If you select driver from "Search & Edit Trips" screen, it will assign that driver but does not dispatch the shipment directly. To dispatch it you will have to go to the New dispatch Board and dispatch it from there.
Barcode Mode: scan pieces individually
Selecting this option means the driver must scan each piece in a multi piece shipment.
Device: Edit PCS, WGT, REF
Selecting this option allows the driver to edit Piece, Weight and Reference fields when they Pick Up or Deliver a shipment.
Please Note: The driver can only update these fields when they are picking up or delivering a shipment.
Device: Require POD Name
Selecting this option forces the driver to capture a Proof of Delivery (POD) typed in name when they deliver a shipment.
Device: Require POD Signature
Selecting this option forces the driver to capture a signature when they deliver a shipment.
Device: Batch POD (ignore pieces / undeliverables)
Selecting this option batches all shipments by Pick Up and/or Delivery Address (must be an exact match) so the driver can pick up or deliver all the shipments for 1 address with 1 action.
Device: Scan a location barcode on pick up/deliveries
Selecting this option forces the driver to scan a Location Barcode at Pick Up or Delivery.
The location barcode must be in the company name and must be an exact match.
The address's company name with a barcode should be in the following format:
- "Company Name (<barcode>)"
- for example "Bobs Flowers (12345)"
- then using the example above, the barcode scanned at that location must be: 12345
Device: Enable Crossdock
Selecting this option activates the Cross Dock feature (not available for IDS 2 Dispatch yet).
Undeliverable: Keep original TripId if all pieces undeliverable
Selecting this option keeps the original IDS Trip ID when a shipment is marked as undeliverable.
A driver can mark a shipment undeliverable in 2 ways:
- The driver clicks the "Undeliverable" button on the app as per option below "Undeliverable: Toggle Undeliverable Button On App"
- If "Barcode Mode: scan pieces individually" or "Toggle Barcode: TripId + Piece Count: -1,-2" is active.
- And the Driver short scans at Pick Up or Delivery by saying all pieces are missing.
Undeliverable: Toggle Undeliverable Button On App
Selecting this option activates an "undeliverable" in the Trip Details Screen.
When selected, the shipment is marked "undeliverable", which:
- changes its service level to "undeliverable"
- changes its status to Active
- takes the shipment off the driver's app.
- puts the shipment on the dispatch board.
Toggle Barcode: TripId + Piece Count: -1,-2
Selecting this option does the following:
- Waybills/Shipping Labels generated by IDS 2 Dispatch or the IDS Shipping Portal include a piece count by adding a -1 or -2 or -3 etc at the end of each trip id (and barcode).
- This forces the driver to scan each piece but disallows them to scan a piece more than once.
- Which will allow you to find out which piece is missing.
