How to Remove a User from the GPS Map Menu.

This article will explain how you can remove a user from the IDS GPS Map Menu.

If this user is no longer with your company, then you need to read this article (How to Disable a User when they leave your company) as it will also remove the user from the map. 

Step-by-step guide

  1. In IDS, logged in as an "Admin."
  2. Go to the "Staff Members"'s Screen.
  3. Find the Staff Member's record who you do not wish to appear in the IDS GPS Map Menu.
  4. Then view this staff members "User Roles", located on the right hand side of this screen.
  5.  Any of the following Users Roles will make this staff member appear on the IDS GPS Map Menu:
    1. driver
    2. dispatcher
    3. admin
    4. billing
       
    This is because of IDS's security set up needs to create a separate login for the above user roles to view the GPS Map. 
     
  6. If your staff member does not need any of the above roles to complete their work, then remove as need.
  7. When done, press "Update User."
  8. Close your IDS GPS Map.
  9. Restart your IDS GPS Map.
  10. If the user has not been assigned any of the user roles from point 5 above, then they will no longer appear in the IDS GPS Map Menu.
     

Chrome has a hard time with caching websites and displaying an update to a website. If you dont see your changes, change your default browser to Firefox, then open your map.
If the change does appear in Firefox, then Chrome is experiencing a caching issue. Try clearing your cache in Chrome.
