Auto Update
To auto update IDS Mobile, please do the following:
Login to IDS Mobile.
For more information on how to login into IDS Mobile, please see this article: How to Login into IDS Mobile.After a few minutes, you will see “Update Available” in the top right hand corner of the app.
Open up the IDS Mobile menu by clicking the 4 horizontal bars located in the top right hand side of the screen.
Select “Sign out” from the bottom of the menu.
Relaunch IDS Mobile by click on the icon.
When IDS Mobile launches, you will see the following message
Click “Install” to start the process.
When the install process has been completed, click on “open”
Depending on your Android version and/or any custom security settings, you may see other notifications stating the app needs certain permissions. If you see any of these, always select “allow”.
Once completed, the IDS Mobile login screen will launch. Simply login back in.
Manual Update
To manually update the IDS Mobile app, please do the following:
On the Android Device that needs to be updated.
Then click on the link that says, “Click to install IDS Mobile on Android Device.”
Then click on “Download”.
Then click on “Open”.
Click on “Install”
This will start the install process.
Once the install process has completed.
Find the IDS Mobile App (Find, open and close Apps)
Then click the IDS Mobile Icon to open the app.
You may now see this screen.
Move the slider for “Allow from this source” to the right.
The screen may also say, “Allow from Unknown Source” and may have a tick box. If so, tick to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
“Unknown Source” just means you didnt download the app from Google Play. At this time, Google Play doesn't provide IDS the ability to customize our app for different users, as such, we cant use Google Play.
Then click the Android Device’s back button.
Depending on:
your version of Android.
your devices set up.
if you have any 3rd party security software installed on the device.
You will be greeted with a number of different pop ups asking if you wish to “Allow IDS access” to photos, media, GPS, storage, etc.
You MUST allow all permission requests. Failure to do so, will mean IDS Mobile will not work properly.
You maybe asked to turn on GPS. If so, please do so.
When completed, you will be greeted with the IDS Mobile’s login screen.
