IDS 2 Advanced Features.

The following features can be activated for your company based on a request to IDS's Support Department. Some features may need to be customized based on how your company does business.

Most of these features rely heavily on barcoding. While the IDS 2 App does allow you to use the phone's onboard camera to scan a barcode, IDS highly recommends the use of a phone with an onboard laser scanner for those that scan a high volume of shipments. Currently, (February 2017) IDS recommends the Zebra/Motorola/Intermec TC-55.  For more details on the TC-55, please click here

IDS App 2 - Driver Verification. This is used by drivers loading shipments at a Cross Dock or at a Warehouse. It ensures all shipments/packages/totes assigned to that driver have been loaded into their vehicle.

IDS App 2 - DSD Deliveries. This is used for Chain of Custody shipments that demand a location barcode scan to prove that shipments/packages/totes are delivered to the correct location.

IDS App 2 - Warehouse Scan. This is used for Line Haul, Long Haul, Spoke and Hub and Cross Dock shipments. It ensures all shipments/packages/totes are loaded onto the line haul trailer/vehicle and received at the next location. It also provides Chain of Custody tracking and audit updates and details.

Pick Up - Piece Count with Barcode Scan. This is used at a pick up when you need to use a barcode to complete a piece count of all shipments assigned to that driver.

Delivery - Piece Count with Barcode Scan. This is used at a delivery when you need to use a barcode to complete a piece count of all shipments assigned to that driver.

Cross-Dock. This is used to scan shipments into and out of a Cross-Dock or Warehouse.

Pick Up By Barcode. This is used for two purposes. The first purpose is to claim existing shipments (See Claims), the other purpose is to parse the "smart" barcode to create new shipments in IDS. This is used to capture overages. This must be customized to your company's smart barcodes specifications.

Batch Delivery. This screen is used when you need to consolidate multiple shipments for delivery at 1 location and capture 1 signature and 1 POD for all deliveries.
