Online Shipping - Addresses dont populate Ship Now Screen

Problem

When using the IDS Online Browser Based Ship Now Screen, addresses dont populate.

This is caused by an address in the address book for this account having a special character (!@#$%^&*()_+|-=\{}[]:";'<>?,./). Having a special characters in an address causes a web-browser to have a conflict and not display the webpage correctly.

Basic Solution

Login to your client's account: Online Shipping - LOGIN SCREEN (IDS 1 Browser)

  1. Then go to their address book: Online Shipping - EDITING ADDRESS IN SHIP NOW SCREEN (IDS 1 Browser)
  2. Once their address book is fully loaded with all their addresses, edit any address that has a special character, by removing that character. Commas are okay.
  3. You can use "control and f" to open your browser's search feature, then search for special characters such as (!@#$%^&*()_+|-=\{}[]:";'<>?,./).
  4. When you find any special characters, edit the address to remove those characters.
  5. Keep doing the above until addresses reappear on the Ship Now Screen.

Advanced Solution

This is a more advanced solution. If you need any help, please contact support.
  1. If you already have Firefox installed on your computer, do the following:
    1. In Firefox
    2. Go to settings.
    3. Then advance settings.
    4. Then updates
    5. Then turn off automatic updates.
    6. Then uninstall Firefox.
    7. For more details on the above, please see this article https://www.technipages.com/enable-disable-automatic-updates-in-firefox
  2. With no versions of Firefox installed on your computer, go to here: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/19.0/win32/en-US/ and install the official older version of Firefox onto your computer.

  3. Launch the above Firefox.
  4. In the Firefox that was installed above, login to your client's account: Online Shipping - LOGIN SCREEN (IDS 1 Browser)
  5. Then press the "alt" key on your keyboard, then go to Tools, Web Developer, Error Console.

  6. This will launch FireFox's Error Console.

  7. Now press the "Clear" button.

  8. Now go to the Ship Now Screen. If you were already on the "Ship Now" screen, "refresh" the page using Firefox's refresh button

  9. Once the "Ship Now" page has reloaded, go back to the error console and find an error that looks similar to this:

  10. Go to the address book Online Shipping - EDITING ADDRESS IN SHIP NOW SCREEN (IDS 1 Browser)
  11. Find the address that the error console discovered in point 9 above. Edit out any and all special characters for that address. Meaning edit any (!@#$%^&*_+|-=\{}[]:";'<>?,./) out of the address.
  12. Go back to the Ship Now screen.

  13. If the addresses still don't appear, you need to go back to point 7 above and repeat until all special characters have been removed.
  14. When you have removed all special characters and addresses are now appearing, you must now delete Firefox off your computer. It is an official version of Firefox, but it is older. Its best practice to operate the latest version of Firefox on your computer.
  15. When you reinstall the newest version of Firefox back onto your computer, please remember to turn auto-updates that you turned off in point 1 above.
