How to fix Application Blocked by Security Settings

Problem

You start the IDS's PC Client and Java's Security setting blocks IDS from launching.

Solution

If you are running Windows 7 or 8, go to the Control Panel, then continue from point 5 below.

If you are running Windows 10, then do the following:

  1. Go to the "Search Windows" field on your computer and type "Control Panel"
  2. When the "Control Panel" appears in the search results
     
  3. Click to open, the Control Panel.
  4. Now locate the "Search Control Panel" field in the top right hand corner of the screen.
  5. Type "Java" into the "Search Control Panel" field. 
     
  6. You will now see the Java Icon.
  7. Click the Java Icon to open it.
  8. Now locate the "Security" tab.
     
  9. Click on the "Security" tab.
  10. Drag the slider down to "medium"
     
  11. Then click "Apply"
  12. Then click "Okay"
  13.  Close Java and now launch IDS. IDS should now launch.
