This article will explain how IDS's pricing works. This article refers to more detailed articles for each section.

Note: Every IDS client will have set up IDS or will need to set up IDS in their own unique way. There is no Industry Standards for Rates, Service Levels, Packages Types, Zones and Accessorial Charges.

The following is article uses examples to explain how IDS works for pricing. Your IDS set up will be different, please use the examples to better understand how IDS's Pricing Works. 

In IDS's PC Client, if you open the Trip Entry, you will see a screen similar to this:

Charges

The bottom section of the Trip Entry Screen labelled "Charges":
 

Is for Accessorial Charges such as Power Tailgate, Waiting Time; for Sales Taxes such as GST, PST, VAT; and for Fuel Surcharges. 

The amounts calculated show up in the totals in the bottom right hand side of the Trip Entry Screen. To be clear, in the image below, the lines that are highlighted in Yellow.

 

You can manage, edit and create charges in the Charges Wizard.
