How to Create/ Edit Users in the IDS 2 Shipping Portal

The following Article describes how to Create and Edit Users in the IDS 2 Shipping Portal.

Please Note: The following screen is only available to users that have Admin Privileges. Basic users cannot see this page. 

Step-by-step guide

  1. Click on the "Users" tab:

To Create a New User

Step-by-step guide

  1. Using the right hand side of the screen
  2. Select the Level of Authorization for this new user, using the "Authorization" drop-down:
  3. The Levels of Authorization are:
    1. User - cant see the Users and Address Tabs. They can only create, edit and search shipments.
    2. Admin - can see all screens in the IDS 2 Shipping Portal.
  4. Then enter in the User's Login ID in the Login ID field:
  5. Login IDs:
    1. can only contain numbers and letters.
    2. must be a minimum of 4 characters.
    3. cant contain spaces.
    4. cant contain any special characters.
    5. You will notice that if you try to enter in a space or a special character, the software will ignore your input.
  6. Enter in the User's First and Last Name

  7. Then enter in the password into the "Password" and the "Password Confirmation" fields

  8. Then enter in their phone number
  9. Then enter in their email
  10. Then enter in their Cell (Mobile) phone number
  11. Then tick the "Is Enabled" box
  12. Then click the "Add / Update" button
  13. You will then see the new user appear on the left hand side of the screen


To Edit a User

  1. Find the user that you would wish to edit in the left hand side of the screen.
  2. Then double click on that user.
  3. Their user details will populate the fields on the right hand side of the screen.
  4. Then change the fields as needed.
  5. When you are done, click on the "Add / Update" button

To Disable a User

  1. Using the steps above (To Edit a User).
  2. Untick the "Is Enable"
  3. Then click on the "Add / Update" button.

To Delete a User

  1. Using the steps above (To Edit a User).
  2. Then click the "Delete" button located on the bottom left hand side of the screen
  3. Then click "Yes"
