While IDS was designed to work on Windows XP and newer, Microsoft has dropped support of XP Windows 7 (Windows XP Issues), therefore the minimum requirement for IDS is Windows 7.9. https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4057281/windows-7-support-ended-on-january-14-2020
